The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. Applications are due by March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applicants must submit a statement on their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will be asked to comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills, according to the institute.
Eligibility and Requirements
Candidates may need to submit scores from examinations like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT may also be required.
Proficiency in English must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. A strong academic record is necessary.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
