Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. Interested candidates must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude and research potential. They will also assess oral and written English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
