IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Details

Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026. This opportunity is available to non-Indian nationals. Holders of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards are also eligible.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English language proficiency. They will also need to provide names of two referees. These referees will be asked to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview committee will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
