Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
The official notification states that referees will assess candidates on their overall aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility may also require scores from national entrance exams such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program.
International examination scores, including Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), are also considered.
Candidates are also required to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will grant admission based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
