IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m. Applications are accepted through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements may include scores from national examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores are also considered.

Accepted international exam scores include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will admit students based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. This interview will be with a faculty committee in the chosen discipline.
