IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application portal will remain open until 4 PM on March 30, 2026 . Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be asked to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from national-level entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores such as GRE or GMAT may also be required.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline. Additionally, applicants must submit scores from recognized English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations.
