IIT Delhi has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are due by March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.
The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They will also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores, including GRE and GMAT, can also be considered.
English Proficiency Tests
Candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency. This can be done through scores from tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Other recognized language tests may also be accepted.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
