Admission Details for Foreign Nationals
The application window is open until 4 PM on March 30, 2026 . This opportunity is for admission to the 2026-27 academic year. Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
Admission requirements may include scores from national-level tests. These can include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores may also be considered, such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates will also need to demonstrate English proficiency through standardized tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Those with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant department. The interview will assess their suitability for the program.
