Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application window is open for international students . Applications are due by March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, can apply. Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Admission Requirements
Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude and potential. They will comment on chosen field proficiency. Recommendations will cover research potential and English language skills.
Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Other accepted scores are CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exams like GRE and GMAT are also considered.
English proficiency test scores are required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.
Selection Process
Admission decisions are based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel comprises faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
