IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions 2026: International Students Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Overview

Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International students may also submit scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on performance in an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct interviews for candidates with strong academic records.
