Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested foreign nationals can apply online.
Admission Details
Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal is located at international.iitd.ac.in. The window closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-Indian citizens are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Required Examinations
Candidates may need to submit scores from several standardized tests. For PhD and PG programs, scores from tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE may be required. International examination scores from GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. A statement of English proficiency is required for all applicants.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
