IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions 2026 for International Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m.

Admissions Open for International Students

Foreign nationals can apply for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Applications are managed through IIT Delhi’s international admissions portal. The portal can be accessed at international.iitd.ac.in .

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. They need to submit a self-declaration of their English language skills.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The letters will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Entrance Exam Scores

Submission of specific exam scores may be required. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE scores for PhD and PG programs. International applicants may also submit GRE or GMAT scores.

English language proficiency test scores are also necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. An interview committee of faculty members will conduct the interviews.
