NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for its five-month online Executive Programme in Robotics. Graduates can apply now through the official website, home.iitd.ac.in . This program includes a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi and targets professionals seeking to design, program, and deploy intelligent robotic systems.
This third cohort of the executive program aims to blend managerial perspectives with deep technical grounding. It prepares learners for the rapidly evolving robotics industry, according to an official press release.
Program Objectives
Arnab Chanda, program coordinator and associate professor at IIT Delhi, highlighted the industry’s demand for specialized engineers. “Through this Executive Programme in Robotics, IIT Delhi combines research-led teaching with practitioner insights. This helps professionals build deep technical capability, sharpen systems thinking, and accelerate innovation across high-impact sectors, in India and globally,” Chanda stated.
Chanda added, “Robotics now sits at the intersection of AI, sensing, and advanced manufacturing. Industry requires engineers who can design, program, and deploy intelligent systems responsibly.”
Curriculum Details
The robotics program features six core modules covering essential aspects of the field. A hands-on capstone project requires each participant to develop one robot. This project is supported by structured research and guided implementation.

Complementary tutorials provide practical training. These sessions cover CAD design, 3D printing, Arduino programming, AI/ML for robotics, DIY robotics, and ROS training.
Eligibility and Instruction
Graduates with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply. The program will be delivered through live, interactive Direct-to-Device (D2D) sessions. Online classes will include industry-relevant lectures, tutorials, hands-on tools, and project work.
Top robotics experts and industry leaders from India and the USA will conduct the live sessions. These instructors will train participants to build job-ready capabilities and deliver measurable impact across technology-driven sectors.
Campus Immersion and Certification
Participants will have the opportunity to attend a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi. This event allows direct engagement with the institute’s academic and research environment. Upon successful completion of the five-month program, participants will receive a certificate.
The curriculum trains learners to develop and implement robotic applications using programming languages. Participants will also learn to design and control robotic systems and networks. They will build robotic devices, covering both mechanical and electronic foundations. The program also strengthens capability in robotic vision, enabling participants to apply visual sensors to real-world robotics use cases.
