The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has launched a new online certificate course titled “Leadership with AI.” The four-month program, developed by the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) in partnership with edtech firm Great Learning, is scheduled to begin in January 2026 .
Program Overview
The “Leadership with AI” course targets mid to senior professionals, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. According to an official IIT Bombay press release, the program aims to help participants develop AI-driven strategies. It also prepares them to lead organizational transformation using artificial intelligence.
IIT Bombay faculty designed and deliver the entire program. It focuses on enabling participants to envision, lead, and scale AI initiatives effectively within their organizations.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum starts with core modules. These cover essential topics for AI leadership:
- AI-ready leadership
- Generative AI and agents
- AI-led business strategy
- Building a responsible AI-first organization
In the final module, participants select an industry-specific specialization. This includes sector-relevant case studies. The approach offers practical insights directly applicable to their field, as stated by IIT Bombay.
Eligibility and Application
Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria to register for the course:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- A minimum aggregate of 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA.
- Three years of work experience.
