IIM Visakhapatnam and the Imarticus School of Finance and Business (ISFB) have launched new campus immersion programs. These initiatives aim to provide undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students with direct academic exposure to the IIM Visakhapatnam campus environment.
The collaboration introduces structured programs designed to integrate ISFB students into a premier management institute’s academic setting. Participants will engage in specially curated academic sessions held on the IIM Visakhapatnam campus.
Undergraduate Immersion Program
Undergraduate students will participate in a 5-day immersive experience. This program includes interactive sessions led by IIM Visakhapatnam faculty members. Keynote presentations will also be a core part of the curriculum, offering insights into advanced management topics and industry trends.
This 5-day module focuses on introducing younger students to the rigour and methodology of an IIM education. It aims to build foundational understanding and a professional outlook from an early stage in their academic careers.
Postgraduate Immersion Program
Postgraduate students will undertake a 3-day on-campus training program. This intensive training package totals 126 hours of academic instruction delivered at IIM Visakhapatnam. Upon successful completion of this rigorous course, students will receive executive alumni status from the institute, connecting them to IIM Visakhapatnam’s broader professional network.
The postgraduate program is structured to provide deep insights into complex business and finance subjects. It prepares students for advanced roles by enhancing their analytical and strategic thinking capabilities through practical modules and expert-led discussions.
Program Objectives and Benefits
These immersion programs serve multiple purposes. They introduce students to the teaching methodology and academic culture prevalent at an IIM. Furthermore, the programs expose participants to the intellectual rigour required for advanced management studies. This early introduction helps bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and the practical expectations of modern industry.
The initiative seeks to equip students with enhanced self-confidence and specific skills. These competencies are vital for excelling in today’s competitive finance and business sectors. The programs aim to cultivate a deeper understanding of management thinking and analytical approaches.
Leadership Perspectives
Dean Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty of IIM Visakhapatnam underscored the significance of the initiative. Marisetty stated the institute’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality management education. He emphasized that this collaboration with ISFB marks the first time IIM Visakhapatnam is directly extending its academic reach to undergraduate students. This provides younger learners with foundational exposure to management thinking, analytical skills, and the institute’s distinct learning culture.
Joy Parekh, CEO of ISFB, commented on the strategic partnership. Parekh explained that the collaboration with IIM Visakhapatnam strengthens ISFB’s mission. This mission focuses on providing students with early access to leading educational environments. Parekh also noted that the IIM-led engagement programs are designed to provide learners with strong exposure, confidence, and the practical skills necessary for success in current finance and business fields.
Learning Approach and Content
The academic training camps at IIM Visakhapatnam will incorporate a diverse learning approach. Sessions will be led by expert faculty and industry professionals. The methodology includes case-based learning, allowing students to analyze real-world business scenarios. Application modules will provide hands-on experience in applying theoretical concepts. Participants will also receive exposure to advanced management concepts, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.
This blended learning environment fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will learn to navigate complex business challenges through interactive discussions and practical exercises, mirroring actual corporate decision-making processes.
