IIM Lucknow has launched three new programs focused on technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The institute introduced a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) in AI and Business Analytics, a 2-year Tech MBA, and a 5-year integrated BS + Tech MBA program. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the courses at the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026.
New Program Details
The BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics will begin in the 2026-27 academic year . Admission to this program requires candidates to have cleared the JEE Advanced examination . This is a direct requirement for all applicants.
The 2-year Tech MBA program is scheduled to launch in the 2027-28 academic year . Specific eligibility criteria for this program will be announced later by IIM Lucknow.
Students enrolled in the BS (AI and BA) program will have an option to pursue the integrated 5-year BS + Tech MBA. This allows them to complete both degrees within the five-year timeframe.
Program Objectives
IIM Lucknow states these programs aim to equip students with practical skills. They will learn to integrate AI into fundamental business operations. The curriculum also focuses on developing leadership and entrepreneurial abilities in the AI domain.
These new courses align with national digital initiatives. They support programs like “Digital India” and the “IndiaAI Mission.” The goal is to advance India’s technological capabilities in AI.
Curriculum Approach
IIM Lucknow Director M P Gupta commented on the new programs. He stated they combine business knowledge with deep technological understanding. The curriculum is designed in a modular format to achieve this blend.
The BS in AI and Business Analytics is specifically for students completing Class 12. JEE Advanced is the mandatory entrance exam for this undergraduate degree. Further details on admission processes for all programs will be released by IIM Lucknow.
