IGNOU, CII Launch Career Edge Academy for Skill Training

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) launched the CII Career Edge Academy at its headquarters during its 40th foundation day celebration. This initiative aims to provide industry-aligned training to students and professionals across India.

Academy Objectives and Offerings

The CII Career Edge Academy will deliver employment-oriented skill development modules. It will also offer industry-aligned training programs and capacity-building pathways. This structured approach seeks to enhance career readiness for learners.

IGNOU will utilize its national outreach to implement these programs. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will contribute its sector expertise. This collaboration intends to equip learners with practical skills, meeting current job market demands.

Inauguration Event Details

The inauguration event took place at IGNOU Headquarters. Key attendees included Peter Scott, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver, Canada. Uma Kanjilal, Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, and Saurabh Roy Chaudhry, Executive Director of CII, were also present. Senior officials, faculty members, and invited guests attended.

Uma Kanjilal spoke at the event, emphasizing the university’s commitment to linking education with industry. Kanjilal stated, “This Academy reflects our commitment to creating stronger bridges between education and industry.
