HP NEET PG 2025 Counselling Registration Opens: Eligibility, Fees

The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) has initiated the registration process for Himachal Pradesh National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (HP NEET PG) 2025 counselling. This process allows eligible candidates to apply for admissions into Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses. Application Fees

Candidates applying for HP NEET PG 2025 counselling must submit an online application fee. For those in the General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories, the fee is Rs 3,600 . Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are required to pay Rs 2,500 . Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates are exempt from paying any registration fees.

Eligibility Criteria for HP NEET PG 2025 Admissions

To qualify for HP NEET PG 2025 counselling, applicants must meet several key criteria:

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. A Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate also qualifies. The National Medical Commission (NMC) or the former Medical Council of India (MCI) must officially recognize this degree or certificate.
  • Candidates must complete a compulsory rotating internship. This internship must conclude on or before July 31, 2025 . This deadline aligns with the guidelines issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in New Delhi.
  • Successful qualification in NEET PG 2025, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), is mandatory. Candidates must secure at least the minimum qualifying percentile specified for their respective category.
  • All admissions under the State Quota, Management Quota, and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Quota will occur solely through common or centralized counselling. The designated State authority conducts this counselling.

Seat Reservation and Quota System

Under the HP NEET PG 2025 counselling framework, specific seat reservations apply. 66.67% of the State Quota seats are reserved for In-Service General Duty Officers (GDOs). The remaining 33.33% of State Quota seats are available for Direct Candidates. Official notifications state that in-service GDOs are ineligible for admission to Management Quota seats in private medical colleges within Himachal Pradesh.

Direct Candidates must have obtained their MBBS degree from a medical college located within Himachal Pradesh. Individuals working on a regular or contractual basis, who do not meet the qualifying service criteria detailed in the State Postgraduate Policy, will also be considered Direct Candidates. They must still satisfy all other prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mandatory Document Specifications

Candidates registering for HP NEET PG 2025 counselling must upload required documents, including a photograph and signature. These documents must adhere to specific technical and content standards:

  • Photograph: The image must be recent, taken on or after October 1, 2025 . Its file size must not exceed 40 KB . The photograph should show the face covering 80% of the frame. Both ears must be clearly visible against a plain white background. Spectacles are permitted only if the candidate uses them regularly; however, caps and goggles are not allowed.
  • Signature: The signature must be in running handwriting, not in capital letters. It should be written in black ink on white paper. The scanned file size must not exceed 20 KB .
  • File Format: Both the photograph and signature files must be uploaded in .JPEG or .JPG format.

The uploaded images will be consistently used on all official documents. This includes the registration card, admit card, evaluation form, and the final degree certificate.

Counselling Structure and Admission Rounds

The HP NEET PG 2025 counselling process will be conducted in four distinct rounds. These include Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a Stray Vacancy Round. Each round systematically covers online registration, choice filling by candidates, subsequent seat allotment, and mandatory physical reporting at the allocated college. Rules for seat upgradation and conversion will be applied. These rules follow guidelines issued by both Atal Medical and Research University and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The counselling aims to fill postgraduate medical degree courses across Himachal Pradesh. This includes Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) programs. The process specifically covers 50% of state quota postgraduate seats in government medical colleges. Additionally, it includes all seats available in private medical colleges located within the state of Himachal Pradesh.
