Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) opened applications for the 2026-27 academic year. The university introduced new engineering and multidisciplinary programs. HITSEEE 2026: Engineering Admissions
The HITSEEE 2026 is a national-level entrance examination. It governs admission to engineering, technology, architecture, and design programs at HITS. Applicants, both Indian and international, can register online athindustanuniv.ac.in. Engineering program eligibility requires a minimum of 60% marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
The examination will operate in a hybrid mode. It assesses proficiency in five subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and general awareness. These subjects cover core knowledge relevant to technical and design studies.
HITSCAT 2026: Non-Engineering Admissions
HITS also released the schedule for the HITS Common Aptitude Test (HITSCAT) 2026. This aptitude test applies to admissions for the university’s non-engineering courses, including business, humanities, and applied sciences.
Applications for HITSCAT 2026 become available on December 10 . The examination will occur on May 25 and 26 . Qualified candidates will proceed to a merit-based counselling process. This process will allocate seats from June 1 to 5 .
Classes for all programs begin in July 2026 .
New AI and Global Programmes Launched
HITS introduced several new interdisciplinary and industry-focused programs for the 2026-27 academic cycle. These additions aim to provide students with skills relevant to evolving global demands.
New Bachelor of Technology (BTech) specializations in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) include Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Cloud Security. Both specializations are developed in collaboration with Google. GenAI focuses on designing systems that create new content. Cloud Security addresses protecting data and applications hosted in cloud environments.
New undergraduate courses under Liberal Studies include Economics and Finance, Political Science and International Relations, Catering, and Visual Arts. These courses offer broad education, fostering critical thinking and diverse skill sets.
At the postgraduate level, HITS added an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management. The Healthcare Management program prepares professionals for leadership roles in the healthcare sector, covering administration, policy, and operations.
Scholarship Opportunities at HITS
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science offers scholarships for academic achievement. Top performers in the university’s entrance examinations can qualify for financial aid. Students achieving the highest ranks in HITSEEE or HITSCAT are eligible for a 100% tuition fee scholarship.
The KCG Varghese Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with strong academic performance in their Class 12 examinations. This scholarship recognizes high academic achievement in school leavers transitioning to higher education.
