SHIMLA, Himachal Pradesh – The Himachal Pradesh government announced its decision to convert 100 state-run schools, currently under the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliation. This initiative aims to enhance educational standards and provide students with improved opportunities for higher education and competitive examinations.
The first group of schools will transition to CBSE in the upcoming academic session. The conversion process for the 100 selected institutions will proceed in a phased manner.
Conversion Details and Objectives
The government’s plan includes a comprehensive syllabus realignment for the affected schools. Additionally, extensive teacher training programs will ensure educators are prepared for the CBSE curriculum and teaching methodologies. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister stated the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the state’s education system. It also seeks to align teaching quality with established national standards.
Upcoming Board Examination Dates
HPBOSE 2025-26 Board Examinations
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is expected to release dates for its Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations soon. Tentative schedules suggest Class 10 examinations will commence in early March and conclude by April. Class 12 examinations are anticipated to begin by mid-March and also end in April.
CBSE 2026 Board Examinations
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued tentative dates last month for its 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Examinations for both classes are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026 . According to the tentative datesheet, Class 10 exams will conclude on March 9, 2026 , while Class 12 exams will finish by April 9, 2026 .
