Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a complete ban on students carrying mobile phones within school premises. The ban affects all students from pre-nursery to Class XII, taking effect from the upcoming academic session. Teachers will retain permission to keep their mobile phones in staff rooms or personal bags.
Mobile Phone Policy
The new policy prohibits students across all school levels from bringing mobile phones into school premises. This includes classrooms, playgrounds, and other school areas. These new additions include the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) , an Education Gallery, a Programme Management Studio, a Conference Area, a New Conference Hall, and a modern central heating system. These facilities are designed to support digital education governance.
The CM stated these advanced facilities will improve administrative and academic efficiency. He described them as the start of a new era for digital education governance in Himachal Pradesh. The new infrastructure provides tools for better oversight and management of educational programs.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK)
The Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) is a key component of the new infrastructure. This integrated digital platform provides real-time data related to various aspects of the education system.
