GLS University, based in India, has partnered with Australia’s SAE Institute to launch a new four-year B.Design (Hons) program. This undergraduate degree focuses on Animation, Visual Effects (VFX), and Game Development. The program aims to equip students with skills for modern creative and technology-driven sectors.
The B.Design (Hons) curriculum emphasizes practical, hands-on learning. It follows a project-based structure, designed to immerse students in real-world production scenarios. This approach develops critical practical skills, preparing graduates for industry demands, according to an official press release.
Curriculum and Practical Training
Students enrolled in the program will utilize world-class studios and specialized tools. This ensures training aligns with current professional standards in animation, VFX, and game development. The focus remains on applying theoretical knowledge to practical projects from the outset of the course.
The program’s design aims to create “industry-ready” graduates. This means students will acquire competencies directly sought by employers in the creative media sector. Modules cover core aspects of animation principles, visual effects pipelines, and game design mechanics, alongside software proficiency.
Global Accreditation and Employability
Graduates from this program will receive a qualification, accreditation, and award from the SAE Institute. GLS University will additionally provide its own certification. This dual accreditation enhances global employability and facilitates career mobility for students entering the international creative economy.
The program also features international immersion and exchange opportunities. These components are structured to offer students a broader, global perspective on evolving creative and technology landscapes. Such experiences provide exposure to diverse industry practices and cultural contexts.
