GATE 2026 Answer Key: Challenge Window Open Until Feb 28

IIT Guwahati has opened the window for candidates to challenge the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 provisional answer key. Objections can be submitted through the official GOAPS portal until February 28 .

Candidates must log in to the objection portal using their GATE enrollment ID and password. A fee of ₹500 per question is required to challenge an answer. The GATE 2026 exam took place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. Exams were held in two shifts daily: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The examination covered 30 different papers.

Accessing Scorecards

The GATE 2026 scorecard will be available for download from March 27 to May 31, 2026 . Access is through the GOAPS portal. After May 31, scorecards can be downloaded until December 31, 2026, with an additional fee of ₹500.

Viewing Responses

Candidates who are provisional are not permitted to challenge the answer key. However, they can view their submitted responses on the GOAPS portal. These candidates can also download their response sheet, the question paper, and the provisional answer key from the official website, goaps.iitg.ac.in.

A GATE score is used for admissions to Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs. It is also a criterion for Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) jobs and research fellowships, including those at CSIR laboratories.

How to Challenge the GATE 2026 Answer Key

Follow these steps to submit an objection:

  • Visit the official website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in .
  • Click on the “GOAPS portal” link.
  • Log in using your enrollment ID, password, and the provided captcha.
  • The GATE 2026 provisional answer key and question paper will appear.
  • Review the questions in the “Master Question Paper.”
  • Select the question you wish to challenge.
  • Provide justification and upload supporting documents or information.
  • Pay the objection fee and submit your challenge.
