DU PG Admissions 2026: CUET PG Mandatory, 1-Year Course Rule for FYUP Holders

Delhi University announced that Common University Entrance Test – PG (CUET PG 2026) scores are mandatory for all two-year postgraduate program admissions. Selection will occur through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) after CUET PG results are released. One-year postgraduate programs will be exclusively available to Delhi University students who completed a four-year bachelor’s degree under the National Education Policy (NEP).

Students from other universities or states who completed four-year bachelor’s courses will not qualify for Delhi University’s one-year PG programs. The university has not yet published specific dates for DU PG admissions for 2026.

CUET PG 2026 Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the CUET PG registration portal for the upcoming academic year. Candidates must submit application forms by January 14 at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/. The NTA has not announced the CUET PG 2026 exam dates.

The national-level entrance exam will be a computer-based test (CBT), covering 157 subject papers. The NTA reduced the number of exam cities from 312 to 292. Applicants can select up to four exam city choices.

Last year, over 6 lakh candidates appeared for the CUET PG exam. Approximately 70,000 students applied for DU PG admissions.

DU PG Admission 2026 Eligibility

Delhi University enrolls over 6.5 lakh students across 16 faculties, 86 departments, and 91 colleges. Specific eligibility requirements for PG admissions include:

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates from unreserved (UR), OBC-NCL, and EWS categories must score at least 50% in the qualifying exam. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates require a minimum of 45% marks.
  • Merit List: The DU PG merit list will depend solely on CUET PG scores. Exceptions apply for programs requiring audition, practical, or sports proficiency tests.
  • Final Year Students: Candidates in their final year or awaiting results can appear for CUET PG 2026. They must meet all eligibility criteria by the time of admission.
  • Foreign Nationals: 10% supernumerary seats in each program are reserved for foreign nationals. Eligible candidates must apply through the Foreign Students’ Registry (FSR) portal.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for DU PG admissions 2026.
