Delhi Offers Free Coaching for JEE, NEET to 2,200 Students

The Delhi government launched a free professional coaching program for 2,200 government school students . This initiative prepares students for highly competitive national entrance examinations. Education Minister Ashish Sood announced the program on Monday, with physical classes for selected participants beginning on November 26, 2025 . The scheme operates under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission. It provides targeted preparation for exams such as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for engineering, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical sciences, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for law, Chartered Accountancy (CA) Foundation, and the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for various undergraduate programs.

Program Funding and Strategic Goals

This initiative, first detailed in the Delhi budget, has secured a dedicated allocation of Rs 21 crore . The funding supports comprehensive coaching designed for meritorious students from government schools across the capital. The mission aims to provide essential academic resources and preparation, thereby enhancing students’ opportunities to gain admission into premier engineering, medical, law, and other undergraduate programs nationwide. This strategic investment seeks to bridge educational gaps and unlock academic potential at the grassroots level.

Selection Process

The selection of students for this competitive coaching program followed a rigorous process. A Common Entrance Test (CET-2025) served as the primary selection mechanism. This exam was administered on October 30 . A substantial number of candidates, totaling 62,000 students , appeared for the CET. Following the examination results, a structured counselling process was conducted and has now concluded, leading to the final enrolment of the 2,200 participants.

Coaching Providers and Structure

Coaching services are provided through a network of established, empanelled institutions. These prominent coaching centers include Aakash Institute, Narayana Academy, KD Campus, and Ravindra Institute. The comprehensive curriculum delivers various modes of instruction, encompassing intensive classroom coaching, interactive live online sessions, specialized study materials, and rigorous test preparation support. To minimize disruption to regular schooling, coaching sessions are strategically scheduled for after school hours and on weekends.

Seat Allocation and Gender Reservation

The program aims to provide high-quality coaching to 2,200 students across the range of competitive examinations. A core component of the initiative is ensuring equitable access, particularly for female students, through specific seat reservations. The detailed allocation and gender reservation breakdown is presented below:

Exam Program Total Seats (where specified) Seats Reserved for Females
