The Directorate of Education, Delhi has opened online applications for nursery admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories. The application window is for the 2026-27 academic year.
Parents must submit applications for their children by March 16, 2026 . All required category documents must accompany the application. Only one application per child is permitted; multiple applications will lead to cancellation.
EWS, DG, CWSN Category Details
EWS Category: Children from families with an annual income below ₹5 Lakhs are eligible.
Disadvantaged Group (DG): This category includes students from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC – non-creamy layer). Orphans, transgender children, and children affected by HIV are also included. An income certificate is not required for this category.
Children with Special Needs (CWSN): This category has a 3% reservation. Applicants may be eligible for relaxed age criteria.
Age Limits for Applications
Applications are accepted based on the child’s age as of March 31, 2026 .

- Click on ‘EWS / DG Admissions’ or ‘EWS / Freeship Admissions’.
- Select ‘Registration for New Applicant’.
- Enter all required personal and family details.
- Complete the online application form.
- Upload necessary documents.
- Pay the application fee, if applicable.
- Save and submit the final application.
