CTET 2026 Exam Starts Feb 7: Schedule, Admit Card

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 examination begins tomorrow, February 7. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will administer the exam in 140 cities nationwide. The test is conducted in an offline, pen-and-paper (OMR-based) format.

Exam Schedule

The CTET February 2026 session will run for two days, February 7 and February 8. Each day features two shifts. The morning shift runs from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. The afternoon shift is scheduled from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

Paper 2, for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8, will be held during the morning shift on both days. Paper 1, for teaching Classes 1 to 5, will take place in the afternoon shift on both days.

Admit Card Information

Candidates must download their CTET 2026 admit card from the official website, ctet.nic.in. Access requires the candidate’s application number and password. The CBSE released the admit cards on February 5.

Exam Details

The CTET exam is offered in 20 languages. These include English, Hindi, and several regional languages like Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi. Reports suggest Maithili may be added as a language option in future exams.

CTET is a mandatory test for individuals seeking to teach in central government schools. It is also accepted by other institutions. The exam has two papers. Paper 1 targets teachers for elementary stage (Classes 1-5). Paper 2 is for the upper elementary stage (Classes 6-8).

Registration Numbers

A record 25,30,436 candidates have registered for the CTET February 2026 examination. This number indicates high demand for teaching positions.

Exam Day Instructions

Candidates should arrive at their designated CTET exam centre at least one hour before the scheduled start time. Participants must carry a printout of their admit card. Original identification is also required for verification purposes.
