CLAT 2026 Cut-offs: NLSIU Bengaluru Tops Ranks; Jan 15 Deadline

NLSIU Bengaluru recorded the highest cut-offs for CLAT 2026, with the first seat allotment results now declared. Candidates allotted seats must pay the non-refundable confirmation fee by 1 pm on January 15 . The second allotment list will be published on January 22 .

For the general category, NLSIU Bengaluru closed admissions at an All India Rank (AIR) of 101 in the first round. NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, followed, closing at AIR 148. West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, closed at AIR 284.

CLAT Counselling Process

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will conduct five rounds of CLAT counselling for admissions to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs. Candidates can check results and updates on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

After seat allotment, candidates are presented with three options: freeze , float , or exit . Selecting ‘freeze’ confirms acceptance of the allotted seat. The ‘float’ option keeps the possibility open for securing a higher preference NLU seat in subsequent rounds. Candidates who do not wish to continue with the counselling process must choose ‘exit’.

Candidates were required to submit a minimum of 15 preferences for UG courses and five for PG courses during the application process.
