CISCE Cancels UAE Exams: ICSE, ISC 2026 Canceled

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has cancelled the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 examinations scheduled for March 2026 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The decision comes amid heightened security concerns in the Middle East due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

Exam Cancellation Details

CISCE consulted with educational authorities and diplomatic representatives before making the cancellation. This includes discussions with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai and the Consulate General of India in Dubai. The board had previously announced a postponement of these exams in the UAE from March 2 to April 6, 2026. This postponement has now been changed to a full cancellation.

Alternative Assessment Plan

With the exams cancelled, CISCE will implement an alternative assessment method for affected students. The specifics of this assessment are expected to be released by board officials soon. Reports suggest the council may follow a model similar to the one used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students should maintain contact with their respective schools for updates on the evaluation process.

Similar Actions by Other Boards

CISCE is not the only examination board making changes in the Middle East. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also cancelled Class 10 exams and postponed Class 12 exams in the region due to the ongoing conflict. The CBSE issued its order considering the war situation.
