Weather Warning and Forecast

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a bulletin detailing the weather conditions. It predicts heavy rainfall accompanied by moderate thunderstorms.

Maximum wind velocity is expected to reach 40-60 kmph. These conditions are likely in Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Chengalpattu districts.

Exam Postponements

The University of Madras announced the postponement of all undergraduate and postgraduate exams. These exams were originally scheduled for December 3 .

University Registrar Rita John issued a notice regarding the change. Revised dates for the postponed examinations will be announced shortly.

The Greater Chennai Corporation has deployed approximately 22,000 personnel . These personnel include officials assigned to manage rain-related tasks.

Their duties involve clearing clogged drains, removing fallen tree branches, and pumping out stagnant water. These efforts aim to mitigate the impact of the heavy rainfall.
