CEPT University Graduates 589, Launches MBA in Real Estate

CEPT University awarded degrees to 589 graduates at its 20th Annual Convocation. The event also marked the formal launch of an MBA in Real Estate program under the Faculty of Management.

Of the 589 graduates, 392 received postgraduate degrees , 196 undergraduate degrees , and one earned a Doctor of Philosophy. The university also recognized 45 students with University Awards of Proficiency for academic excellence.

New MBA in Real Estate Program

The new MBA in Real Estate program aims to address the demand for skilled professionals in India’s expanding real estate sector. Prof. Barjor Mehta, President of CEPT University, stated the program builds on CEPT’s strengths in architecture, urban planning, design, engineering, and construction management.

The program offers career opportunities for students from diverse undergraduate backgrounds within the built environment sector.

Convocation Ceremony Highlights

Prof. Ashoke Chatterjee, former Executive Director of the National Institute of Design, served as the Chief Guest. Shri Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman of CEPT University, urged graduates to consider climate urgency and artificial intelligence in their professions. He emphasized resilient, humane, and enduring design choices over disposable construction.

Prof. Chatterjee encouraged graduates to deliver architecture that prioritizes people, place, and collective memory.

Honorary Doctorates Awarded

CEPT University conferred Honorary Doctorates (Honoris Causa) to two distinguished individuals:

  • Prof. Rasik J. Shah: Recognized for contributions to structural engineering and education.
  • Prof. Vidyadhar K. Phatak: Honored for his impact on urban planning and policy in India over five decades.
