CBSE Direct Recruitment 2026: Apply by Dec 22 for Various Posts

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced registrations for the All India Competitive Examination 2026, under its Direct Recruitment Quota (DRQ2026). This recruitment drive invites applications for various posts, including Assistant Professor and Assistant Director roles. All interested candidates must submit their applications online via the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. The deadline for online registration and fee payment is December 22, 2025 .

Application Details

The board accepts applications exclusively through its online portal. Applications submitted through any other means will not be processed. CBSE reserves the right to post selected candidates in any of its offices located across India. The total number of advertised vacancies remains tentative and may be adjusted based on organizational requirements.

Application Fees

Application and processing fees vary by post group and candidate category. For Group A posts, Unreserved, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates must pay Rs 1,750 . For Group B and C posts, the fee for these categories is Rs 1,050 .

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), ex-servicemen, and women are exempt from the application fee. However, all candidates, including those exempt from the application fee, must pay a processing fee of Rs 250 for Group A, B, and C posts. The final date for fee payment is also December 22, 2025 . Payments must be made online using debit cards, credit cards (excluding RuPay CC on UPI, PPI Wallet, and Credit Line), internet banking, or UPI.

Selection Process

The selection for DRQ2026 involves a rigorous multi-stage procedure. It begins with a comprehensive written examination, featuring both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and descriptive components. Candidates who successfully clear the written exam will then be called for an interview. The final stage involves a skill test, where applicable. Applicants must secure a minimum of 30% marks in each individual tier of the examination to qualify for advancement to the subsequent selection round.

Examination Marking Scheme (Tier 1)

The Tier 1 written examination follows a precise marking scheme. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded three marks . Conversely, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. Unanswered questions will receive zero marks. Candidates should note that each question has only one correct option. Marking or darkening more than one response for a single question will automatically be considered an incorrect attempt, leading to a one-mark deduction.
