The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened its online portal for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. Schools now have a final opportunity to complete these submissions, with late fees, until October 8, 2025 . Missing this strict deadline will render affected students ineligible for the upcoming board exams.
Portal Reopened Due to Missed Deadlines
CBSE decided to reopen the LOC portal because many schools had not submitted the required forms by earlier deadlines. The portal is accessible through the official website, cbse.gov.in. It provides a last chance for schools to register their students for the 2026 examinations.
Official Directive on Compliance and Consequences
An official notification from CBSE has directly instructed all school principals to ensure timely LOC submission. The board stated, “All Principals who have still not submitted their LOC are therefore directed to ensure that the LOC for their respective schools is completed and submitted within prescribed timeframe with late fees.”
CBSE has made it clear that no further extensions will be granted. The notification explicitly warned, “The portal will be closed as per above schedule, and no submissions will be accepted thereafter.”
Student Ineligibility if Deadline Missed
Schools failing to meet the October 8, 2025 deadline will bear full responsibility for non-compliance. This will directly impact students. The board confirmed that such failures will lead to the “ineligibility of their candidates to appear for the Board Examinations 2026.”
Key Dates for the 2026 Board Examinations
Students and schools should note the tentative schedule for the 2026 CBSE Board Exams:
