The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared a fake circular regarding the cancellation of 2026 board exams in Middle Eastern regions as false. The board issued a clarification via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on March 1, 2026.
The fake notification claimed that remaining language papers for Class 10 and Class 12, along with the Class 10 Social Science exam scheduled for March 7, 2026, were canceled in Middle Eastern centers. It cited global circumstances and war conditions impacting student safety.
Fake Circular Alert
CBSE confirmed the widespread circular is fabricated. No such announcement has been posted on its official website, cbse.gov.in. The board stressed that all official updates originate solely from its authorized channels.
Students preparing for CBSE exams at centers in Middle Eastern countries should disregard the false information. They must rely exclusively on the official CBSE website for accurate exam status and related announcements.
Official Clarification
The board’s X post, under the handle @cbseindia29, explicitly stated: “Important Alert!! This is a fake circular. An official update will follow.”
The purported fake circular indicated that marks for canceled exams would be awarded through a composite evaluation. This system was said to include continuous comprehensive evaluation, periodic tests, pre-board exams, and internal assessments.
CBSE has cautioned students and parents against believing unverified information circulating on social media. The board reiterated its commitment to providing timely and accurate information through its official platforms.
Students affected by this misinformation are advised to stay vigilant and verify all exam-related communications directly with CBSE.
