BSEB DElEd 2026 Registration Open: Apply by Dec 24 for 30,750 Seats

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) opened registration for the DElEd Joint Entrance Examination 2026 on December 11 . Applications for the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) program close on December 24 . Candidates must apply online at bsebdeled.com. This entrance test provides admission to 30,750 seats across 306 government and private teacher training institutes in Bihar.

The DElEd program prepares candidates for elementary education roles. All affiliated institutes are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Bihar board.

Entrance Examination Details

The BSEB DElEd 2026 examination will be a computer-based test (CBT). It features 120 multiple-choice questions . Candidates receive 150 minutes to complete the exam. Each correct answer earns one mark ; there is no negative marking.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet specific academic and age requirements for DElEd admission.

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination. A minimum of 50% marks is mandatory.
  • Reserved Category Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in marks applies to reserved category and PwD candidates.
  • Urdu Candidates: Those who passed the Maulvi exam, equivalent to Class 10, with 50% marks are also eligible for Urdu specialization.
  • Appearing Candidates: Students appearing for the Class 12 board examination in 2026 can apply. However, admission is conditional upon securing the required qualifying marks.
  • Ineligible Qualifications: Polytechnic and ITI qualifications do not qualify for this program. Exceptions include vocational Class 10+12, Madhyamik, and Intermediate exam passers.
  • Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old . Age is calculated as of the first day of the admission year.

Selection Process

Final selection depends on a merit list. This list combines scores from the DElEd entrance examination with institutional preferences submitted by candidates. Successful candidates will be allocated seats based on this combined merit.
