The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 10 examinations started on February 17, 2026, for over 1.5 million students. The Matric Annual Examination will conclude on February 25, 2026.
Exam Details and Schedule
A total of 15,12,687 candidates are registered for the exams across 1,699 centers statewide. This includes 7,85,726 girls and 7,26,961 boys. The examinations are conducted in two shifts daily. The first shift runs from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, and the second shift is from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
On February 17, exams covered mother tongue subjects: Hindi, Bangla, Urdu, and Maithili. The second day, February 18, features the mathematics examination. Visually impaired candidates will take Home Science (Paper Code 126) instead of mathematics during the first shift. They receive an additional 20 minutes per hour to complete their paper.
Students are provided with an extra 15 minutes at the start of each shift to review the question paper. In Patna district, 71,022 candidates are appearing at 70 examination centers.
Chairman Inspects Examination Centres
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor inspected several examination centers in Patna. These included Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav High School, Government Girls’ (+2) School, Bankipur, and Devipad Chaudhary (Miller) Inter School. He reviewed arrangements with center superintendents and magistrates.
Kishor emphasized strict adherence to board guidelines and checked frisking procedures at select locations. The board aims to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.
