Over 7.6 lakh students took the Bihar Board Class 12 exams on February 3, 2026. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) reported that 763,000 students appeared across 1,762 examination centers statewide. This marks the second day of the annual intermediate examinations.
Exam Statistics Day 2
The first shift, running from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, saw 421,967 students taking the Mathematics exam. This paper was for students in the Science and Arts streams.
In the afternoon shift, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, 341,033 students sat for their exams. This included Political Science for the Arts stream and the Foundation Course for vocational students.
District Performance
In Patna district, both examination shifts proceeded without incident. The first shift had 27,907 students appearing for Mathematics. The second shift recorded 23,635 students for Political Science and vocational subjects.
Board Oversight
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor conducted a surprise inspection. He visited Ramlakhan Singh Yadav Sarvodaya High School in Punaichak during the first shift. Kishor reviewed arrangements and directed staff to follow board guidelines.
Upcoming Examinations
The third day of the Class 12 exams is scheduled for February 5, 2026 . Science stream students will take Physics in the morning shift. The afternoon shift features Geography for Arts students and Commerce for Commerce stream students.
Total Registrations and Day 1 Overview
A total of 1,317,846 candidates registered for the Bihar Board Intermediate Examination 2026. This includes 675,844 female students and 672,002 male students. The exam began on February 2, with over 5 lakh students participating on the first day. On day one, 26 students were expelled and one impersonator was apprehended.
