Assam NEET PG 2025: Third Round Counselling Registration Opens

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has commenced online registration for the third round of NEET PG 2025 counselling. This round allocates vacant postgraduate medical seats under the Assam state quota. Candidates must complete their online registration by January 5 .

The counselling includes admissions to government medical colleges across Assam. It also covers the Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati. DME Assam conducts the process adhering to the Medical Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses) Rules, 2021, and subsequent amendments.

Eligibility for Participation

To participate, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements. Applicants must have appeared in the NEET PG 2025 examination, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). They must also have secured the prescribed cut-off score. Furthermore, each candidate’s name and NEET PG roll number must appear on the state provisional merit list, published by DME Assam.

Candidates who previously registered and participated in the first or second rounds of state counselling do not require re-registration. They can directly access the choice filling process for this third round. This allows them to seek a new seat allotment or a change from a previously allotted college.

Key Counselling Stages

The online counselling process involves several distinct stages with strict deadlines. After registration, candidates engage in choice filling, selecting their preferred medical colleges and postgraduate courses. Accurate submission of choices is critical. Candidates must lock their choices within the specified window; choices auto-lock if not manually confirmed.

Following choice locking, DME Assam processes seat allotments. This involves matching candidate preferences against available seats and merit. Results are then declared online. Provisionally selected candidates must report to their allotted institutions for admission within the specified dates. This step is mandatory for admission confirmation and document verification. Failure to report will result in seat forfeiture.
