A total of 604 candidates have been provisionally allotted MD, MS, and postgraduate diploma seats across various medical institutions. Selected candidates must report to their respective colleges for mandatory document verification and admission between December 4 and 5 .
Counselling Overview
This initial round of counselling facilitates admissions to 50% of the postgraduate seats under the Assam State Quota. These seats are available in government medical colleges across Assam and B.B.C.I., Guwahati. The process follows the completion of the first round of online counselling for the academic session 2025.
Seat Allotment Details
The provisional selection list, detailing the 604 allotted seats, is now published. These allocations include positions in both government and private medical colleges throughout Assam. Candidates can access their individual seat allotment results directly through the official DME Assam website.
Mandatory Reporting and Admission Process
All candidates who have received a provisional seat allotment must report to their designated institution. This reporting period is strictly set for December 4 and 5 . During this time, candidates will undergo crucial document verification. They must also submit all required admission and counselling fees.
Candidates who have already secured admission under the 50% All India Quota must take specific action. They are required to produce a copy of their resignation or surrender acceptance letter. This document must be issued by their previous college or institute to finalize admission under the state quota.
Instructions for PwD Candidates
Special verification procedures apply to candidates in the Persons with Disability (PwD) or DIVYANG category. These candidates must report specifically on December 3 at 10 AM . The venue for this verification is the office of the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Bhangagarh, Guwahati.
A medical board will conduct the verification of their disability status. PwD candidates must bring all their original relevant certificates to this verification session. Absence from this session may result in their inability to claim PwD benefits.
