The Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test (AP LAWCET 2026) is scheduled for May 4. Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, will administer the exam on behalf of the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The test is for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs for the 2026-27 academic year.
Registration for AP LAWCET 2026 is now open. The application form is available on the official website: cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. The exam covers admission to three-year and five-year LLB courses, as well as LLM programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be residents of Andhra Pradesh and meet specific local and non-local status requirements. These are defined by state government orders for the 2026-27 academic year.
3-Year LLB Course
Candidates need a graduate degree from a recognized university. Minimum aggregate marks required are 45% for General category, 42% for Backward Classes (BC), and 40% for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Slightly lower percentages will be considered. A score of 44.5% is accepted for General, 41.5% for BC, and 39.5% for SC/ST. If graduation marks are below the threshold, a qualifying additional degree can fulfill eligibility.
5-Year LLB Course
Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination. The minimum aggregate marks are 45% for General, 42% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST candidates. The same rounding-off rule for percentages applies.
LLM Course
Admission to the two-year LLM course is through the AP PGLCET exam. Candidates must hold a three-year or five-year LLB degree. Final-year LLB students are eligible if they meet the required marks by the AP LAWCET counselling period.
