Andhra Pradesh signed seven agreements at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on Friday. The pacts focus on higher education, advanced skilling, and school transformation.
AI Partnerships for Education and Skilling
The agreements aim to build the state’s artificial intelligence future through its students. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu oversaw the signings.
Key partners include IBM, UNICC, NIELIT, IIT Madras, BharatGen, and WISER. These collaborations target skill development and educational advancement.
IBM Collaboration to Skill One Lakh Learners
Andhra Pradesh signed a Letter of Intent with IBM. This partnership will train one lakh learners over three to five years. Training will cover Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Computing.
The initiative will use IBM’s global digital learning platforms. This aims to equip learners with industry-aligned skills. It will also strengthen the state’s tech workforce.
UNICC to Establish AI and Quantum Centre
An agreement with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) will establish a Centre of Excellence for AI and Quantum computing. This centre will be located at Amaravati Quantum Valley and is slated for launch in 2026.
UNICC brings over 55 years of experience. It provides expertise in secure and sovereign AI aligned with UN standards. The centre will position Amaravati as a digital hub.
NIELIT to Open First South India Campus
Andhra Pradesh partnered with the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT). They will establish the first NIELIT deemed to be University campus in South India. This campus will focus on Quantum and AI education.
The campus will receive Central government funding. The state will provide land and quantum hardware access. It is intended to become a national hub for emerging technology talent.
Strengthening AI in Higher Education
An agreement with Cabilo AI will enhance AI and digital innovation. This will impact over 50 higher educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The program targets students, faculty, and curriculum development.
It includes faculty development and AI-integrated curricula. Applied use cases and innovation labs will improve employability.
State-Level AI Sandbox Development
The government, through the Real Time Governance Society, will establish a State-level AI Sandbox. This is in partnership with Calibo Inc. The sandbox will offer a secure environment for developing AI solutions.
It aims to design and validate AI applications for governance and public services.
WISER Partnership for Talent Hub
Andhra Pradesh signed an MoU with WISER (Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship and Research). This will establish a Centre of Excellence and Talent Hub. It is part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative.
WISER has already trained over 62,000 learners. It plans to reach 3.5 lakh learners in 2026 and six lakh next year. The cumulative target is 3.5 million learners.
Statewide AI Tech Hub Launch
A partnership with BharatGen, NexGen, and IBM will launch a statewide AI Tech Hub. It will use a five-layer Swadeshi AI Stack. The platform will support 22 Indian languages.
It will integrate over 500 sovereign GPUs and indigenous large language models. This hub will support governance, welfare, agriculture, MSMEs, and education.
AI Tutor for School Education
The government signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. In partnership with Bodhan AI, they will roll out an AI Tutor. This initiative will cover Government, Aided, and Private schools across Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh views AI as an educational mission. It aims to prepare a generation for the quantum and AI era.
