Andhra Pradesh Launches ‘Mustabu’ Student Hygiene Program

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched ‘Mustabu’ , a new personal hygiene program for students, on Saturday. The initiative began its statewide rollout from the Tallapalem social welfare residential school in Anakapalli district.

Program Genesis and Purpose

The name ‘Mustabu’ translates to “getting ready” in Telugu. Parvatipuram Manyam district collector Prabhakar Reddy conceived the program, initially piloting it among tribal students.

Chief Minister Naidu stated the ‘Mustabu’ program aims to elevate personal hygiene, health, and self-confidence among students. He addressed students during the launch, emphasizing these core objectives.

Broader Government Vision and Impact

Naidu noted that programs like ‘Mustabu’ will also inculcate leadership qualities in students, alongside promoting cleanliness. He highlighted that such an initiative requires no financial expenditure.

The Chief Minister further announced that the state government plans to conduct health tests for 75 lakh students across Andhra Pradesh. Naidu affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a strong future for the students, stressing the importance of efforts from childhood for achieving life goals.
