AICTE SFURTI Program 2025: Funding for Institutions

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers funding to its approved institutions through the Short Term Training Programme (STTP) under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) Programme. This initiative supports training for faculty and students. The training aims to develop small businesses from research outcomes.

AICTE and the Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF) administer the STTP-SFURTI Programme. IMEDF serves as a specialized body for micro-enterprise growth. It also functions as the nodal agency for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, overseeing industrial cluster development under SFURTI.

Programme Objectives

The AICTE STTP-SFURTI Programme has defined objectives for participating institutions:

  • Understand the SFURTI scheme.
  • Train students and faculty in project proposal identification and presentation.
  • Develop detailed project reports.
  • Manage project resources, including technological and social innovations.
  • Manage projects, resolve rural economic challenges, and assess social, economic, and environmental impacts.

Application Process

Institutions must complete a two-step application process: online registration and an AQIS application.

1. Online Registration of New Institute

New institutions must register on the AICTE portal:

  • Visit the AICTE portal atportal.aicte.gov.in/aicte/app/partnerportal/enu.
  • Select ‘New Institute’.
  • From ‘Login’, select ‘Investor Login’.
  • Choose ‘Sign Up Now’ to begin registration.
  • Enter required details and click ‘Verify’. An One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Input the OTP for verification.
  • Click ‘Sign Up Now’ to complete registration.

2. Post-Registration Process (AQIS Application)

After initial registration, institutions complete the AQIS application:

  • Visit the AICTE portal atportal.aicte-india.org/partnerportal_enu/start.swe.
  • Log in using AICTE-provided credentials.
  • Click the ‘AQIS Application’ screen tab.
  • Institute details will automatically populate.
  • Fill in demographic and bank details.
  • After confirming bank details, click ‘New’ to create an AQIS Application. A unique AQIS Application ID will generate.
  • From the drop-down list, select ‘SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME-SFURTI SCHEME’.
  • Complete details for ‘Programme Details’, ‘Personalities Expected’, ‘Participating Industries’, ‘Similar Events’, ‘Budget Estimate – Others’, ‘Academic Credentials of Coordinator/PI/Applicant’, ‘Justification’, and ‘Credential of Institute / Department’.
  • Click the ‘Validate Application’ button on the ‘AQIS Application’ tab.
  • Download a sample Mandate Form from the pop-up message, fill it, and attach.
  • Enter the requested amount in the ‘Total Funds Requested’ field under the ‘Budget Estimates Others’ section.
  • Read and check the declaration box.
  • Click ‘Save’.
  • Click the ‘Submit’ button to finalize the application.
