AIBE 21 Exam: BCI Issues 2026 Guidelines, Deadlines

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released new guidelines for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 21, scheduled for June 2026 . Candidates must adhere to these rules for the exam. The application window is now open, closing on April 30, 2026 .

Key Examination Guidelines

Candidates must present their admit card and a government-issued photo ID at the exam center. Entry is prohibited without these documents. The BCI advises candidates to visit their assigned center the day before the exam to ensure timely arrival on the exam day.

Reporting and Entry Deadlines

All candidates must report to their designated examination center by 11:30 AM . Latecomers will not be permitted entry after 01:15 PM . These strict timings apply to all participants.

Allowed and Prohibited Items

Only bare acts , without any notes or comments, are allowed inside the examination hall. The following items are strictly prohibited: mobile phones, digital/smart watches, bags, calculators, electronic gadgets, and any form of written notes or books other than the permitted bare acts. Possession of unauthorized materials or engaging in unfair means will result in immediate disqualification.

Exam Procedure and Answer Sheet Submission

Candidates cannot leave the examination hall before the exam concludes. All answer sheets must be handed over to the invigilator before departure. Markings on the OMR answer sheet must be made exclusively with a Blue/Black Ball Point Pen . Using a pencil for any markings will lead to disqualification.

OMR Sheet Accuracy

Correctly filling the Question Booklet Set Code and Roll Number on the OMR answer sheet is critical. Any errors or omissions in these fields will result in the answer sheet being rejected. Candidates are responsible for ensuring all details are accurately entered.

Provisions for Candidates with Disabilities

Candidates with over 40% disability will receive an additional 20 minutes per hour . To avail this, a certified copy of the disability certificate must be submitted to the invigilator. For disabilities such as blindness, locomotor disability affecting both arms, or cerebral palsy, candidates can request assistance from a scribe . The scribe must be an undergraduate not studying law or humanities and must carry their school/college ID, age, and address proof. Scribes are not provided by the examination center.

Candidature and Disqualification

Candidature for the AIBE 21 is provisional. All candidates must meet the eligibility criteria. If ineligibility is discovered at any stage, candidature will be canceled. Candidates found engaging in cheating or unfair practices will typically be debarred from future examinations.
