CLAT 2026 Seat Allotment: Candidate Choices
After reviewing their seat allotment, candidates must choose one of three options: Freeze, Float, or Exit. These choices determine a candidate’s participation in subsequent counselling rounds and confirm their admission status.
Freeze Option
Selecting ‘Freeze’ signifies the candidate’s firm acceptance of the currently allotted NLU and its offered course. Upon choosing this option, the candidate commits to the allocated seat. Candidates who ‘Freeze’ their seat forfeit eligibility for consideration in any further CLAT 2026 counselling rounds. This choice finalizes their admission to the designated NLU, subject to document verification and fee payment processes.
Float Option
The ‘Float’ option allows a candidate to accept the current seat provisionally while simultaneously expressing interest in a higher-preferred NLU or course. By choosing ‘Float,’ candidates remain eligible for consideration in subsequent counselling rounds for preferred options. If a higher-preferred seat becomes available and is allotted in a later round, the previously held ‘Floated’ seat is relinquished. If no higher-preferred seat is allotted, the currently accepted ‘Floated’ seat remains valid.
Exit Option
The ‘Exit’ option indicates a candidate’s decision to withdraw from the entire CLAT 2026 counselling and admission procedure. Choosing ‘Exit’ means the candidate does not wish to participate in any further allotment rounds. This action concludes their involvement in the CLAT 2026 admission process for the current academic year. Candidates selecting ‘Exit’ will not be considered for any NLU seats.
Candidates must make their selection (Freeze, Float, or Exit) through their login accounts within the specified timeframe. Failure to choose an option by the deadline may result in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
