Government Research Adhichatra, Maharashtra 2025-26 is a significant initiative launched by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Maharashtra. This scholarship aims to provide essential financial assistance to dedicated students who have successfully completed their postgraduate studies and aspire to pursue a Ph.D. within government institutions across Maharashtra.
The program offers substantial support to selected scholars, including a monthly scholarship of ₹750. Additionally, an annual allowance of ₹1,000 is provided to cover various other academic expenses, ensuring comprehensive financial aid for their research endeavors.
Candidates will be selected based on their academic merit and strict adherence to the specified eligibility criteria. The application deadline for this scholarship is March 31, 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance through the official government portal.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Government Research Adhichatra, Maharashtra 2025-26, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be domiciled in Maharashtra.
• Have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their postgraduate degree, which includes programs such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Ed., M.A., M.Sc., and M.Ed.
• Be currently enrolled in one of the specified Maharashtra institutions. These include:
• Government Science Institutes located in Mumbai, Nagpur, and Aurangabad.
• Government Vidarbha Gyan Vigyan Science Institute in Amravati.
• Vasant Rao Naik Mahavidyalaya College in Nagpur.
• Universities and their affiliated colleges within Maharashtra.
Note: For applicants holding postgraduate degrees other than those explicitly listed above, the requirement of securing a minimum of 60% marks is not applicable.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to prepare and upload the following essential documents when applying for the scholarship:
• Domicile certificate, verifying residency in Maharashtra.
• Name of the student's designated research guide.
• University sanction letter for the guide, confirming their approval and affiliation.
• Marksheets and certificates for both graduation and postgraduate degrees.
Note: For the renewal of the scholarship in subsequent years, students must submit an annual progress report provided by their research guide, along with their own personal progress report from the last academic year.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the Government Research Adhichatra, Maharashtra 2025-26 by following these steps through the official scholarship portal:
1. Access the official scholarship portal. You may need to locate an 'Apply Now' or similar button to initiate the application process.
2. If you are a new user, click on the 'Register' button and proceed to fill in the necessary registration details. If you are already registered, log in using your registered Gmail account, mobile number, or Email ID.
3. For new applicants, navigate to the 'New Applicant Registration' button located on the right-hand side of the dashboard and click on it to begin.
4. Fill in all required details accurately, verify your email address and phone number, enter the provided captcha code, and then click on the 'Register' button to complete the registration.
5. After successfully registering on the portal, locate and click on the 'Applicant Login' button, also found on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Log in to the portal using your newly created username and password.
7. Proceed to fill in all the necessary application details, upload the specified required documents, and finally, submit your application.
