Maharashtra Board: Single Marksheet-Certificate with QR Code for Students

Maharashtra students will soon receive a new, consolidated marksheet-certificate. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is implementing this change for both Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) examinations. This reform replaces the previous practice of issuing separate documents. The new format combines academic marks and the passing certificate into a single document.

New Marksheet Features

The updated marksheet-certificate will include a passport-sized photograph of the student. It will also feature a QR code. This QR code allows for quick verification of the marksheet’s authenticity. Educational institutions and employers can scan the code. This will reduce instances of document forgery.

Standardized Student Details

Student details on the marksheet will be standardized. The board will ensure names match official records like Aadhaar cards. This aims to prevent discrepancies during admissions or job applications. The change is expected to streamline administrative processes. Students will find managing their academic records simpler.

Benefits of the New System

The unified marksheet-certificate offers several advantages. It reduces the need for students to carry multiple documents. Verification processes will become more efficient. The MSBSHSE expects to implement this change shortly. Lakhs of students across Maharashtra will benefit from this secure and simplified certification system.
