IIT Delhi opened admissions for international students to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are accepted until March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with OCI or PIO cards, are eligible.
Application Process
Candidates apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in. The deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM .
Applicants must submit a statement declaring English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. The application requires English proficiency proof. Candidates may need scores from tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs.
International examination scores from GRE or GMAT can also fulfill admission requirements. Language proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are necessary. Candidates must submit scores from at least one of these tests.
Admission Selection
Admission is based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
