IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students: Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Applications are open for the 2026-27 academic year.

Admission Details

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes on March 30, 2026, at 4 PM.

Eligibility and Requirements

Candidates may need to submit scores from specific entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also considered.

English language proficiency test scores are required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The interview committee will assess candidates’ suitability for the program.
