IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The admission window targets foreign national students for the academic year 2026-27. Applications are due by March 30, 2026 , at 4 PM.

Admission Details for International Students

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information is stated in the official notification.

Eligibility and Test Scores

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs at IIT Delhi may require scores from specific tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International students might also submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Proficiency in English is mandatory. Candidates must submit scores from recognized tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission to IIT Delhi programs will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
